Moody Ballerina: Finished

I’ve decided this ballerina is moody because she’s lost one of her pumps 😀

I’ll admit it’s much better than what it was, but I still do not like it.

The perspective is off and the swarm around her head reminds me of fleas 😀 The aggressive scratching out of the eyes – I like the idea a lot – but it does not quite go with the style of the rest of the drawing. The composition isn’t as balanced as I’d like it and apart from the ballerina – I’ve not brought anything new to this piece that I haven’t already done before.

Any suggestions for my next drawing (involving a skull, as per the bf’s request) would be much appreciated! xx

Dog

My dandelion attempts going from pen to watercolour failed miserably…

But I started doing this dog and I’m rather chuffed with it.

It’s been left unfinished – as per usual 😉 – but No drips or splatter. I quite like the white space around it. It’s been a while since I’ve painted in my usual messy style to it was almost nostalgic doing this. It’s made me very aware of how I’ve developed and adapted to painting.

Hare: Finished

Hare: Finished

Sometimes it is just the small touches that make a big difference.
For this hare, it’s the splatter across the bottom and the pink mist around him and his purple whiskers.
I don’t like it if the painting looks too neat – My favourite way of applying paint is via toothbrush!
My only criticism about this painting is that I wish I’d used a different colour at the bottom; the red makes it look a bit violent….
But despite this, this hare sold within a week for £100. *grinning from ear to ear*
